lots of octopuses

Apparently, the octopuses had no interest in the 40-60 foot waves on the North shore today, so I got to see a lot of them. The water here in Poipu was pretty wavy, so the pix are not great...just warning you.
The 4 spot butterfly looks so amazing next to the drab ocean floor.
This is the same octopus that posed so well for me last time...still posing.
Seal up near the plants...I am a bit concerned about the bump near its "shoulder."
 Clouds...we had some rain
 Moray eel....
Octopus #2 stayed pretty still too.
This one definitely has hiding down pat...if you look at the left part of the brown blob, you'll see its eye.

Another good hider. I do find them because of the rocks outside the den. Glad they are marking their territory!
This Humu swam into an octo-den to hide.
This is a male snoozing. And you can see its path to the plants..
 Remains of the full moon
 Nice mountain covered in fog
 Palm trees for my sweetie
 Pinktail Durgon.

 Rainbow near the lifeguard shack
Rainbow on the tail of Blue Spined Unicorn fish

 A different rainbow
If you look carefully at the photo above, you'll see 2 black things in the Rock Mover wrasse's mouth. That's a breakfast of starfish. The fish dug it out from under a rock.
The Saddle wrasse at the top had just wedged itself into the little groove in the rock. Not sure why...
 Sand Dollar, I think
 Spotfin Scorpion fish
There's an urchin wedged under all those rocks in the middle. Note the glass it had picked up as protection. Really not a bad choice.

Enjoyed the octopuses today...and since it was somewhat rainy it kept some people out. No complaints here!
