Rain!!

Thrilled to have rain! Not just a bit of coolness, but nice smell and noises.

Pink God's rays!
Moon and God's pink rays

I'm thinking it's time to learn Photoshop, so I can disappear those elec/phone lines!

Light. Clouds and Palms. Nice! Thanks for reading...

Heat destroys energy

If I were more of a night owl, I would be in heaven: the temps drop at least 10 degrees during the night. So star viewing (highly recommend!) is definitely cooler. Yay. I'm trying not to winge about the heat, but it is hard to sit writing this with sweat dripping down my face. The price of a short commute for Alex.

You may have noticed that I have shorter posts and pictures nowadays. There are not as many high value houses, and therefore, fewer pure bred dogs and nicely landscaped yards.   I do see nice dogs, but just not the variety I was accustomed to on Oahu.

A bird sanctuary near us; sadly lacking in birds, but it was early morning. Perhaps they too flee the heat!

Flowers in nearby yards

Nene are the Hawaii state bird. Some folks don't like them, but I think they are cool. If a bit irritating. I sadly saw one this week that hit a power line; dead. My friend is combatting this, by putting reflective plastic tags on the lines, so the birds (mostly shearwaters) can see them. Another one was killed by a car hit.
The garden with beaucoup orchids!

Enjoy air conditioning if you have it! And thanks for reading.

And the heat goes on

Remember Sonny and Cher? Their song And the Beat Goes On? I am singing it this week, but with heat instead of beat. We have been having stifling heat, but not as bad as California, so we are at least that fortunate!

I couldn't decide if this was at least part Shiba Inu. May never know.

These cactus have 2 spikes from each protuberance. Wow. Literal overkill!

Niihau and the Moon

We do get amazing clouds over the ocean. Sometimes with rain below.

Maybe Canada Geese?

Sometimes my blog is taking out pix, not putting them in.

This chicken apparently was waiting for the bus and didn't cross the road.
But this little lizard did. SO tiny!

One of my local streets has a very talented lady or gent who really knows how to grow orchids.

I don't know what fish it was (the tail SHOULD tell me, but....) but someone had breakfast.

Stilts! and someone's beach toy. How could you forget to take that back home with ya?

Plumeria too

The Pointaire...German short-haired Pointer and possibly Airedale..

Jupiter near the Moon
Mangoes, just waiting to happen.
Bay hops flowers. Plentiful along the beach walk.

Have a great week. We are hoping for more rain and breezes...
