This will be the first Thanksgiving in several years that we will be able to spend with family. Hubby's sister and family live on Kauai too, so we are cooperating on the food. We will be also trying the smoked turkey from Costco! And a bird cooked the traditional way. Nut pies, so low in carbs. The Garlic Knots are not low carb, but too good to leave out. It's all good.I have been really appreciating the stars, planet and meteors! 50 or so meteors since I started keeping count. And I know I am not "re-seeing" the same ones...once they flash by, they're gone! I still find myself seeing one out of the corner of my eye and turning my eye that way to make sure; not possible! Once they burn out, there's no getting them back.
I couldn't tell what type of dog this was, but it was a nice quiet one. Rare in larger dogs.
The orchids are still fabulous. I wish I had that skill.
This dog was really getting his exercise. I don't know what happened to his leg, as it was bandaged, but it didn't appear to bother the dog.
Here is the cute puppy I have been seeing on my walks. I gave her the pineapple. Once she got hold of that, shaking it all around, there was no more interest in me. The toy was the only thing in her world.
A strange cactus. I will look it up. Sometime. Somewhere. I am really busy! ha
I was happy to see this praise for the West side. It is really growing on me, too.
This bulldog is very barky, but he does like to interact with the beautiful brindle Boxer pup next door.
These Plumeria are lovely, but no smell.
I found out that this smoke was from agricultural burning.
Paddle cactus, aka Micky cactus, because the flowers appear to be Micky ears. Yes, imagination required.
I assume the red pod contains seeds, but not sure. I am sure the bananas above will be enjoyed by someone.
Near Papayaland. I love these wispy clouds.
Saffron Finches. Seed eaters.
Nice to see Scripture out in the "real" world.
Niihau and Lehua on a quiet morning at the military base.
Crab hole and balls of sand it dug out.
Niihau and the waves. It is still strange to see the sand in the water; in Poipu, I don't see that as much.
Here is the beautiful Boxer. She is 7 months old and really a nice, friendly dog. Her owner keeps an electric fence, so she stays in the yard. At first I wasn't a fan, but she knows it's there now, so she doesn't get zapped anymore. She let me pet her for quite a while. I also saw the "Point-aire", German Shorthair Pointer/Airedale mix. But she was behind a gate, so I only got a small rub of her nose.
Have a great Thanksgiving. I have much to be thankful for. You probably do too. And thanks for reading.
